REDIAM. WMS Transparency Data (m) of water covering the low course of the Guadalquivir River, measured by Secchi disk (2009-2010)

WMS service corresponding to the set of water transparency images (Secchi disk meters) covering the lower course of the Guadalquivir river, from the municipality of Alcolea del Río to its mouth. Data obtained from geometrically and atmosphericly corrected images of the Landsat 5 satellite captured by the TM sensor (Thematic Mapper) during the period 2009 to 2010. With the measurement of this parameter is obtained the depth of penetration of the light in the water, depth that is determined by the amount of matter, both suspended and dissolved, present in the water. The measurement of the transparency of the water column is important to identify the optimal zones for the development of photosynthetic activity and therefore of aquatic life.
