Special Protection Areas for Birds (SPA) of the Valencian Community

Network of Special Protection Areas for Birds (ZEPA) of the Valencian Community. Extension of the SPA Network by the Agreement of 5 June 2009, of the Consell (DOCV 6031 of 09/06/2009). 25 new SPAs are added to the 18 previously existing, resulting in a total of 43. Subsequently, a coastal one is eliminated because it becomes the competence of the General State Administration. This layer is part of the so-called “Avifauna Protection Areas by Electric Lines” together with the priority areas and areas of application of the recovery plans, conservation plans and action plans approved for threatened bird species.
