Dataset description

The data contain the isophone lines of the acoustic indicator Le (Late Noise Index), obtained in the preparation of the Strategic Noise Maps (MERs) of the third phase of implementation of Directive 2002/49/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 June 2002 on the assessment and management of environmental noise (END). The lines corresponding to all the strategic noise mapping units that had delivered geospatial data from their third phase MERs to the Ministry have been included in a single geodatabase and these were available to the public in the Basic Information System on Acoustic Pollution (SICA) as of 17/11/2021. Each Spatial Dataset, including the one described, provides all the information in line format for the Le indicator for the different types of SRM available, namely large airports, large road axes, large railway axes and urban agglomerations. For the latter there can be isophone lines for this indicator for sources of air noise (by aircraft), rail, road, and industrial. It should be noted that the information is not complete, because until the fourth phase of implementation of the END there was no legal obligation to deliver geospatial information, and for different mapping units (UME) it may not have been delivered, or it has been delivered in the form of polygons (not included in the coverage of information with lines), or there may be delays or failures of deliveries. The information that has been included is that available in SICA on 17/11/2021.
