Dataset description

Complete river basins, generated from cell 25 x 25 (CEDEX) MDT. The sub-basins obtained have been classified according to the Pfafstetter methodology modified from that used in the classification of stretches of rivers of Spain (hydrographic classification). The geographical information is polygonal of sub-basins of whole rivers, endorreic basins (basins that do not pour into the sea), interbasins (coastal basins between river mouths) and related data. The methodology applied to obtain this information and its application for the hydrographic classification of rivers in Spain according to the Pfafstetter method has been developed by CEDEX. The detailed information is contained in Monograph M-133 ‘Hydrographic Classification of the Rivers of Spain’ edited by the Center for Publications General Technical Secretary. Ministry of Public Works. The sub-basins for each entire river are consistent with geographic information from the following services: • “complete rivers classified according to modified Pfafstetter”, each river is associated with a subbasin. • “sections of rivers of Spain classified according to modified Pfafstetter” when the sections of rivers are added give rise to complete rivers. • “subbasins of stretches of river classified according to modified Pfafstetter” a sub-basin for each stretch of river. • “Drain Directions Map (MDD) 25x25 m” • “basin area pouring to each cell 25x25 m”
