Dataset description

The Underground Water Information System (SIAS) integrates hydrogeological and auxiliary information selected, verified, validated and standardised, which were incorporated into the GIS as point, linear and areal entities, together with their associated databases. For the area of Andalusia, hydrogeological mapping corresponds to the hydrogeological Atlas of Andalusia (1998) at 1:400,000 scale. For the provincial areas of Huelva and Seville, a geological synthesis was made based on hydrogeological criteria, based on the MAGNA mapping 1:50,000 of the IGME. It incorporates institutional georeferenced databases, CEDEX, Hydrographic Confederations of Guadalquivir, Sur and Guadiana, as well as IGME. The base of reference cartography incorporated, is that of the Cartographic Institute of Andalusia (ICA) and refers to the extended zone 30 and at different scales. Includes the following vector information: aquifer systems, hydrogeological units, basins, hydrogeology, permeability, hydrogeological contacts, water points, reservoirs, capacity in rivers and meteorological stations. The SIAS contains historical information, the IGME currently uses other applications such as the http://info.igme.es/BDAguas/ water point database which includes measurements (historical and current) of piezometry networks, quality, etc.
