Dataset description

Node of the Institute of Statistics and Cartography of Andalusia. Junta de Andalucia. Standardised Softened Fertility Reasons WFS (RFES) service of Andalusia in cells of 250 m x 250 m and 1 km x 1 km. Integrated in the Spatial Data Infrastructure of Andalusia following the guidelines of the Statistical and Cartographic System of Andalusia. The Soft Standardised Fertility Reasons provide information on the intensity of fertility (for the first child) of the Andalusian population (women and men) in a discontinuous mesh of cells of 250x250 meters and 1x1 km that allows to study fecundiad in the period 2002-2019 in Andalusia. This indicator is accompanied together with the average number of children (ISF) and the average age at motherhood/paternity (MS) calculated for both men and women. The available information provides the estimated value for the RFES indicator classified with respect to the Andalusian average as follows: Low, moderately low, similar to average, moderately high, high, not estimated, as well as the lower (ICI) and higher (ICS) ranges of credibility of that indicator at 95 %. ISF and MS indicators are also categorised into five class ranges, plus one category for non-estimable values. The information on fertility, prepared by the Institute of Statistics and Cartography of Andalusia, comes from the statistical activity “Statistics of vital itineraries of residents in Andalusia” and has been made from the exploitation of its database: the Longitudinal Population Database of Andalusia (BDLPA) with the aim of providing new data with information on the fertility functions of the Andalusian population that are not available in the statistics that have been published so far. These layers, together with a large amount of additional information in the form of tables and microdata, can be found in the publication “Longitudinal Statistics of Reproductive Biography in Andalusia, 2002-2019” which is accessed from this link: http://www.juntadeandalucia.es/institutodeestadisticaycartografia/fecundidad/index.htm
