The published information has been prepared by the Directorate General of Public Health, of the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands. It is mainly structured in two layers:
• Bathing water area, which is defined as the geographically demarcated area of a municipality composed of a beach and its bathing waters.
• Sampling points, which are defined as the places designated by the health authority to carry out sampling for the control of bathing water quality. These points return information on the annual water quality based on the evaluation of the series of analytical results of Escherichia coli and Enterococos intestinales, collected during the last four years, as established in Royal Decree 1341/2007, of 11 October, on the management of bathing water quality.
