Dataset description

Owned by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food. The Crop Map is obtained through an extensive fieldwork in which a visual inspection of the entire agricultural area of the Archipelago is made, with the support of the latest aerial photographs available at all times. As the fieldwork is carried out, the data obtained are subject to a quality control, which includes the visual inspection of certain cases. The scale of the early versions of the map was 1:5,000. As GIS technology was incorporated, maps have been obtained at 1:2,000 scale.
