Dataset description
The service of Protected Species in IDECanarias has been created with the information existing in the Biodiversity Data Bank of the Canary Islands of the Vice-Administration of the Environment of the Government of the Canary Islands. Currently this Data Bank stores all the known information of terrestrial species, wild of the Canary Islands until 2008.The distribution of Protected Species is organised in grids of 500×500 meters above the territory. These grids are associated with the presence of Protected Species with the result of the consultation made to the Data Bank. This consultation has been made according to the criteria established by the Biodiversity Service of the Ministry.
