Dataset description

Node of the Institute of Statistics and Cartography of Andalusia. Ministry of Economics, Finance and Public Administration. Junta de Andalucia. The WMS Service of Longitudinal Statistics of Reproductive Biography in Andalusia, 2002-2013 provides the necessary data for the research of fertility in the period 2002-2013, based on the information collected in the population and housing censuses of 2001 and 2011 and complemented by that provided by the statistical bulletins of births and standard residential variations, integrated in the Longitudinal Population Database of Andalusia (BDLPA) for the monitoring of the population during the period 2002-2013. This publication includes fertility tabulations for both women and men as well as maps of fertility indicators using cells of 250 meters and 1 kilometer side. Integrated in the Spatial Data Infrastructure of Andalusia following the guidelines of the Statistical and Cartographic System of Andalusia. The information on Softened Standardised Fertility Reasons (RFES) provides information on the intensity of fertility (for the first child) of the Andalusian population (women and men) in a discontinuous mesh of cells of 250x250 meters and 1x1 kilometer that allows to study fertility in the period 2002-2013 in Andalusia. This indicator is accompanied together with the average number of children and the average age at motherhood/parenthood calculated for both men and women. The available information provides the estimated value for the RFES indicator classified with respect to the Andalusian average as follows: (CLAS: Go down; Moderately low; Similar to the average; Moderately high; High; It is not estimated), as well as the lower (ICI) and higher (ICS) ranges of credibility of that indicator at 95 %. The information on fertility, prepared by the Institute of Statistics and Cartography of Andalusia, comes from the Population Registry of Andalusia and has been made from the exploitation of its database: the Longitudinal Population Database of Andalusia (BDLPA) with the aim of providing new data with information on the fertility functions of the Andalusian population that are not available in the statistics that have been published so far. These layers, together with a large amount of additional information in the form of tables and microdata, can be found in the publication “Longitudinal Statistics of Reproductive Biography in Andalusia, 2002-2013” which is accessed from this link: https://www.juntadeandalucia.es/institutodeestadisticaycartografia/fecundidad/index.htm
