Dataset description

Node of the Institute of Statistics and Cartography of Andalusia. Ministry of Economics, Finance and Public Administration. Junta de Andalucia. WMS Service of Spatial Distribution of the Softened Mortality Reason (RMES) of Andalusia in cells of 250 m x 250 m and 1Km x 1Km. Integrated in the Spatial Data Infrastructure of Andalusia following the guidelines of the Statistical and Cartographic System of Andalusia. Spatial distribution WMS map service of the Soft Standardised Mortality Reason (RMES) of Andalusia in cells of 250 m x 250 m and 1Km x 1Km, as well as the lower (ICI) and higher (ICS) limits of the credibility range of that indicator at 95 %. The information on Softened Standardised Mortality Reasons (RMES) provides information on the mortality of the Andalusian population in a discontinuous mesh of cells of 250x250 meters and 1x1 km that allows to study mortality in the period 2002-2013 in Andalusia by sex and large age groups (all ages, from 45 to 64 years and 65 and over, for the 250 meter mesh and by sex and cause of death for the 1 kilometre mesh. The available information provides the estimated value for the RMES indicator classified with respect to the Andalusian average as follows: (CLAS: Go down; Moderately low; Similar to the average; Moderately high; High; Inestimable; No population in that group), as well as the lower intervals (ICIs) and higher (ICS) credibility of this indicator to 95 %. The information on mortality, prepared by the Institute of Statistics and Cartography of Andalusia, comes from the Population Registry of Andalusia and has been made from the exploitation of its database: the Longitudinal Population Database of Andalusia (BDLPA) with the objective of provide new data with information on the mortality functions of the Andalusian population that are not available in the statistics that have been published so far. These layers, together with a large amount of additional information in the form of tables and microdata, can be found in the publication “Longitudinal Statistics of Survival and Longevity in Andalusia, 2002-2013” which is accessed from this link: https://www.juntadeandalucia.es/institutodeestadisticaycartografia/longevidad/index.htm This information also provides context information based on indicators with census information 2001 on unemployment, population with higher education and population with second housing based on data from the 2001 Census.
