Dataset description
The Web Map Service called the Network of Marine Protected Areas of Spain (RAMPE) allows the visualisation and consultation of the information of the Marine Protected Areas whose figure was created in Law 42/2007, of December 13, on Natural Heritage and Biodiversity, as one of the categories of protected natural areas. MPAs are defined as natural areas designated for the protection of ecosystems, communities or biological or geological elements of the marine environment which, because of their rarity, fragility, importance or uniqueness, deserve special protection. At present there is only one declared area, El Cachucho, by Royal Decree 1629/2011, of 14 November, BOE 8 December 2011.
