Dataset description

The Web Map Service called Protected Natural Areas (ENP) allows the visualisation and consultation of Protected Natural Areas (NPAs) in Spain as a result of the collection of those spaces declared in accordance with national and regional regulations. Law 42/2007 of 14 December 2007 provides for five protection figures (Parques, Nature Reserves, Marine Protected Areas, Natural Monuments, Protected Landscapes); the regional legislation related to the conservation of nature increases the denominations raising to more than 45 the protection figures that we can find. The information is complemented by the European Environment Agency’s Common Database on Designated Areas (CDDA). Product of the declarations and possibly, reclassifications or modifications to the limits, denomination or type of protection, it has been determined that a review is carried out on an annual basis.
