Dataset description

The WMS Service (Web Map Service) called “Subbasins of whole rivers classified according to modified Pfafstetter” allows the visualisation and consultation of the data set representing subbasins of entire rivers, generated from the MDT cell 25 x 25 (CEDEX). The sub-basins obtained have been classified according to the Pfafstetter methodology modified from that used in the classification of stretches of rivers of Spain (hydrographic classification). The geographical information is polygonal of sub-basins of whole rivers, endorreic basins (basins that do not pour into the sea), interbasins (coastal basins between river mouths) and related data. The methodology applied to obtain this information and its application for the hydrographic classification of rivers in Spain according to the Pfafstetter method has been developed by CEDEX. The detailed information is contained in Monograph M-133 ‘Hydrographic Classification of the Rivers of Spain’ edited by the Center for Publications General Technical Secretary. Ministry of Public Works. The sub-basins for each entire river are consistent with geographic information from the following services: • “complete rivers classified according to modified Pfafstetter”, each river is associated with a subbasin. • “Traps of rivers of Spain classified according to modified Pfafstetter” when the river sections are added give rise to complete rivers. • “Subbasins of rivers classified according to modified Pfafstetter” one sub-basin for each stretch of river. • “Map of Drainage Directions (MDDs) of 25x25 m” • “Driving basin surface to each cell 25x25 m” The URL of the WMS Service Sub-basins of entire rivers classified according to modified Pfafstetter is: https://wms.mapama.gob.es/sig/Agua/SubcuencasCompPfafs/wms.aspx The reference systems offered by this service are: — For geographical coordinates: CRS: 84, EPSG:4230 (ED50), EPSG:4326 (WGS 84), EPSG:4258 (ETRS 89). — For U.T.M coordinates: EPSG:32628 (WGS 84/UTM zone 28N), EPSG:32629 (WGS 84/UTM zone 29N), EPSG:32630 (WGS 84/UTM zone 30N), EPSG:32631 (WGS 84/UTM zone 31N), EPSG:25828 (ETRS 89/UTM zone 28N), EPSG:25829 (ETRS 89/UTM zone 29N), EPSG:25830 (ETRS 89/UTM zone 30N), EPSG:25831 (ETRS 89/UTM zone 31N), EPSG:23028 (ED50/UTM zone 28N), EPSG:23029 (ED50/UTM zone 29N), EPSG:23030 (ED50/UTM zone 30N), EPSG:23031 (ED50/UTM zone 31N).
