Dataset description

The objective of the study is to deepen the knowledge of the attitudes that the population Spanish has developed in relation to immigration and the immigrant population. This objective has been disaggregated into the following areas: — Analyse the system of opinions, attitudes and discourses regarding the presence of immigration in Spain. — Analysis of immigration in the set of citizen concerns. — Degree of crystallisation of opinions on immigration as a possible ‘causer’ of the aforementioned social problems. — Analysis of the system of opinions and more general attitudes towards immigration. — Analysis of possible global discourse systems on immigration: possible more favorable discourses, possible more neutral or ambivalent discourses, possible more segregative discourses, possible more xenophobic discourses. — The possible impact of the economic crisis on the social imaginary on immigrants. — The possible political translation of the presence of immigration in Spain. The script that has been widely followed is as follows: — An open first part. — Second part: retake what they have said and set up discussion plans: neighborhood coexistence, access to public services, education, housing, health and social services, work, unemployment and employment aids, the current crisis and immigration, security, religion and culture. — Third part: that immigrants contribute to Spain, to the Spaniards. — Fourth part: system of differences between the two groups of immigrants. Investigate the reasons for the differences. — Fifth part: What is meant by integration? To work? Speaking the language, paying taxes? Accept norms and values?
