Dataset description

The general objective of the study was to determine, as a working hypothesis, an explanation of the voting or abstention behaviors maintained by the population. The ‘population’ was defined in a very specific way by that sector of it that would have been a voter less faithful to various parties. And, in addition, it distinguished itself between voters and abstentionists, and with work currently or unemployed. It is a vision restricted, therefore, to more sensitive segments. The generic objectives were subsequently broken down into the analytical variables: — Reasons for participation or not in the call. — Reasons for casting the vote in favour of one or the other party. Type of vote cast: of punishment, useful, does it imply changes or not with previous electoral calls? — Review of the most important indicators that underlie the vote cast. — Influence of the current economic crisis. — Perception of government measures and opposition actions. — Follow-up of the campaign. Opinion on candidates. — Attitudes and valuations of parties and their leaders. All this taking into account the particularities of the Autonomies in which the study has been carried out and the different trends in citizenship voting history.
