Balance of Crime 2013

The Balance sheet is a report that highlights the evolution of criminality recorded by the State Security Forces and Corps, and the police forces dependent on the different Autonomous Communities of our country. In addition, to the data provided by the aforementioned police forces, the criminal offences registered by those Local Police Corps that provide criminality data to the rest of the State Security Forces are added. This report disaggregates the data according to criminal offences, offences and misdemeanours, recorded not only at national level, but also by Autonomous Communities and provinces. The safety indicators specified in this report comprise different categories: total number of crimes and misdemeanors, wilful murders and consummate murders, violent crime, robbery with violence or intimidation, theft with force, theft of motor vehicles, drug trafficking, damage, and theft. Almost all of these indicators are those established and determined by the European Statistical Office (EUROSTAT).
