Dataset description

The bibliographic catalogue contains the records with bibliographic references of the materials housed in the National Library of Spain. It includes records of modern books published from 1831, ancient books, pamphlets and printed sheets until 1830, manuscripts, magazines and newspapers, engravings, drawings and photographs, maps and plans, video recordings, scores and sound recordings. In addition to the conventional formats, which are also available in.gob data, the National Library of Spain makes available to citizens its semantised catalogue, accessible on the website http://datos.bne.es. It involves the application of Semantic Web technologies to the records of the general catalogue of the BNE (http://catalogo.bne.es/), and its enrichment with resources from external sources such as Dbpedia. This has been published, in accordance with the principles of Linked Data, the information from the catalogues, making them available as RDF (Resource Description Framework) knowledge bases in N-Triples format. This data set offers the files that make up the linked data catalog: bibliographic records (which also includes information from Funds and Marks of Origins), authority records, and headings of subjects of the National Library in SKOS. It also includes the ontology on which the data model has been built, in different formats.
