Dataset description

Centres that offer information, counselling, training and care for children and families, as well as prevention and care programmes for situations of child neglect: the City Council of Madrid has different resources among which are a series of specialised social care centers, with services aimed at responding to needs that affect children, adolescence and families, taking place in: Family Support Centers, CAF, whose actions are intended to help families in the face of difficulties that may arise in family coexistence, collaborating in the prevention and containment of crisis or conflict situations. Child Care Centres, CAI, offer prevention, support and care services to children in situations of serious or suspected helplessness and their families, guaranteeing the good treatment of minors and the strengthening of families through accompaniment, supervision and specialised treatment, applying psychological, educational and social strategies in their intervention. Together with the Primary Social Care Services (Centros de Servicios Social), they set up the municipal network for the protection of minors in the city of Madrid. Family Encounter Points, PEF, addressed to families with minors in which there has been a break in family coexistence by separation or divorce from parents or by family care, and in which the degree of conflict prevents or seriously hinders the development of the visiting regime. Their objective is to promote the right of minors to interact with their families. They provide families with an ideal and neutral environment for the temporary development of communication and visits, following the guidelines established by the competent judicial or administrative bodies. Children’s Day Centers, offer social and educational support during non-school hours to promote the personal and social development of minors between 3 and 12 years old, whose families demand support to perform their educational task, either because they have difficulties in caring for these minors or because they remain alone for a long time without a reference adult. Social and Pre-Educational Support Centers for Adolescents, ASPA, where projects are developed aimed at: adolescents aged 12 to 18 years in a situation of social lack of protection or who have been involved in situations of violence in different contexts, and young people from 16 to 21 years old who, due to personal, family and social factors, have abandoned previous processes of social and school integration and are immersed in a situation of risk of exclusion, needing an accompaniment in order to enter the labour market. Through the Visualisation Portal ‘Visualiza Madrid with Open Data’, the City of Madrid offers you a visualisation about the Open Data Catalogue of the City of Madrid, which shows data on Care Centers for Children and Family.
