Dataset description

The Cartographic and Geological Institute of Catalonia (ICGC) carried out a study in the Maresme region using Sentinel-2 images in which the decay of the forest mass was evaluated from the analysis of the vegetation index EVI (which analyses the level of greenness of vegetation) of a satellite image of August 2015 and another of August 2016. The result is two images classified into 7 levels of affectation. The decay map of the Maresme forests 2015-2016 is a composition of the 2015 decay map analysis adding the areas of the decay map 2016 where the vigorous vegetation has worsened.
