Dataset description

The Thesaurus and Dictionary of Denominations of Cultural Property, due to its wide thematic scope and the high number of descriptors it gathers, is being published independently of its various sections. Three sections have been published so far: Objects associated with rites, cults and beliefs, objects of artistic expression and objects associated with architecture and structures. Due to the great diversity of the objects included in it, the character of this Thesaurus and Dictionary of Denominations of Cultural Property is multidisciplinary and has had the advice and collaboration of experts from different specialties. More than 3,600 terms are offered in LOD for consultation, download and link. Each term is accompanied by a definition, scope notes, bibliography and link to the Digital Network of Museum Collections of Spain and, in many of the terms referenced, demonstrative images. Various functionalities are presented, such as SPARQL consultation point, alphabetical and hierarchical search of terms, as well as 2,087 links to other information resources (List of Headings of Matter for Public Libraries of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, List of Heads of Matter of the Library of Catalonia, the national libraries of France, Holland and Germany, the thesaurus of Getty Research Institute, Library of the American Congress, Dbpedia and Geonames).
