Dataset description

The data set of Underground Water Control Networks of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge is included in the Underground Resources category. This groundwater quality network performs the control of the chemical status of groundwater through a set of controls such as: nitrates, hazardous substances, protected areas, operational, surveillance and Wise-Soe. All the quality information has been collected and treated systematically since 1985 by the Geological and Mining Institute of Spain (IGME) and from 2002 the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge went on to carry out it. This network in recent years has been adapted to the requirements of the current legislation of the Water Framework Directive (WFD), transposed into Spanish legislation in Article 129 of Law 62/2003.
