Dataset description

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was signed in 2015 by all the member countries of the United Nations and represents the international commitment to address the social, economic and environmental challenges of globalisation, putting people, the planet, prosperity and peace at the center, under the slogan of leaving no one behind. At the core of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development are the so-called Sustainable Development Goals. These are 17 goals set out in 169 universal, integrated and indivisible targets, which constitute an ambitious plan of action towards sustainable development that has to be achieved by 2030. The United Nations General Assembly established that these 17 objectives and 169 targets had been monitored using the indicator framework proposed by the United Nations Statistical Commission, currently made up of 247 indicators (231 different indicators, as some indicators are repeated). In the statistics of synthesis Statistical indicators of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in Galicia, statistical data series are provided from official sources of information that allow the indicators defined by the United Nations to be measured at the regional level. There are objectives and targets for which no set of data is yet available to monitor their evolution, but the measure will be progressively incorporated to analyse the different sources of official information available or to undertake new statistics aimed at meeting those needs on which there is currently no information.
