Dataset description

Injuries associated with traffic accidents (CIE-9: E810-E819 and CIE10*)* were the 10th cause of death in men, accounting for 2 % of all deaths. From 1990 to 2004, traffic injury mortality followed a downward trend, with an average annual decrease of 3.5 per cent. Within the scope of the CAPV, the areas with the lowest mortality are located in the metropolitan areas of Bilbao and Donostia-San Sebastián, while those with the highest mortality are located in the rest of Gipuzkoa, in the areas of Bizkaia farthest from its capital, and in the north and east of Alava.
