Social capital is understood as a resource that is accessed when extensive personal networks are available that actively participate in the different economic and social fields, in an environment of trust and that can facilitate personal and social development, as well as the economic development of a society. Specifically, in the Social Capital Survey, conducted by Eustat, social capital is conceived as a set of dimensions of relationship and participation, among which are: social networks of family and friends, trust in people and institutions, social participation and cooperation, information and communication, cohesion and social inclusion and happiness and health.
