Spanish Bibliography of Periodic Publications (2018)

The Spanish Bibliography of Periodical Publications collects the bibliographic records of the first issues of periodicals published in Spain, as well as the changes in the title of journals already published that are received in the National Library thanks to the Legal Deposit. Titles are included in any publication support. It collects serial publications of different types: periodicals or magazines, daily press, reports and annual reports of entities. Congress publications and monographic series are excluded. The online Bibliography of periodicals is updated on a quarterly basis and is available on the BNE’s website. On the one hand, the data are presented in original format (MARC and MARC-XML), ISO 2709: format of exchange and integration of bibliographic information in automated environments). And on the other hand, the data mapped in CSV, JSON, ODS, TXT and XML formats. To publish these datasets a mapping of the records of our catalog, encoded in origin in MARC format has been carried out. For each record type, a series of MARC fields and subfields have been set to retrieve and display, and a literal has been defined to describe the data being displayed. In addition, in order to respect the navigation functionalities of Spanish Online Bibliography, a number of specific fields have been established to help filter records.
