Dataset description

The WMS Service (Web Map Service) called “Article 12 Bird Distribution (2013-2018 period)” allows the visualisation and consultation of the data set that represent the distribution cartography of wild bird species. It responds to the Commission’s legal obligation to regularly assess progress in the implementation of the Directives, based on monitoring and reporting by Member States. The measures adopted under the Birds Directive (Directive 2009/147/EC) aim at the long-term conservation of wild bird species through measures to conserve, maintain and restore the diversity of wild birds and the surface of their habitats.
