Dataset description

The WMS Service (Web Map Service) called “Article 17 Species Ranges (2013-2018 period)” allows the visualisation and consultation of the dataset representing species of community interest. These are a set of species selected as particularly relevant for biodiversity conservation in the European Union. Their protection is covered by Directive 92/43/EEC or Habitats Directive. This data set shows its geographical breadth, evaluated in the period 2013 to 2018, according to the information provided by the competent administrations. The extent of this distribution is a key factor in knowing its territorial trends and thus contributing to maintaining or achieving a favourable conservation area in the biogeographical region as a whole.
