Acid sulfate soil (open data)

The data set “Sur sulfate soil” shows where there may be acid sulphate soils along the coasts of Västernorrland, Västerbotten and Norrbotten. The information can be used to identify areas where it is important to avoid land use that could lead to adverse effects of acid sulphate soils or where it is appropriate to take measures to reduce environmental pressure from soils. “Sur sulfate soil” consists of surface-covered modelling and collected point observations of acid sulphate soil. The modeled map shows the likely distribution of acid sulfate soil. The point observations come from mapping and sampling of acid sulphate soil carried out in various projects at SGU. The classes in the surface-cover model are “Not acid sulfate soil”, “Active acid sulfate soil on potential acid sulfate soil” and “Potential acid sulfate soil”. For each class there is also a separate break showing how safe the rating is at each point (from 0-100 % probability).
