Dataset description

Environmental monitoring of groundwater is carried out in approximately 1700 test sites. The number of places changes between the years and is currently increasing. Environmental monitoring is carried out at national level by SGU through long-term environmental monitoring programmes and at regional level. Sampling is often carried out in observation wells, pipes or sources and to some extent in water sources within the framework of raw water control. Test sites consisting of water supplies in waterworks are not included in the data set for stations as the information on the location of these is confidential but analytical data from these water supplies are available. Environmental monitoring data is divided into “stations” for sampling sites and “analysis data” for the analyses available for the selected station(s).
