Dataset description

The service delivers information about lightning discharges in Sweden. When a lightning discharge has occurred and the information has reached SMHI, the information is passed on with push technology via web-sockets until the users of the service. To interpret the raw sensor data, the consumer needs a so-called “Total Lightning Processor, TLP”. DELIVERY: The push service for flash data is accessed via web service for delivery fee. Data shall be stored before further use. Send an e-mail to [email protected] for order. COORDINATES: Data is delivered for lightning sensors within Sweden. USE: At SMHI, flash data is used in the alert service and investigations. FORMAT: Data is delivered in binary format.
