Dataset description

The mapping shows forest cores in Sweden. Data has been produced within the Government assignment Valuable Forests 2016 (see www.naturvardsverket.se/Nyheter-och-pressmeddelanden/Ny-nationell-strategi-for-skydd-av-vardefulla-skogar/). In choosing the basis for the analyses, we have based on two general principles, comparability and availability. The compilation is based on nationally uniform and transparent data. The delivery (forest_vardekarnor.shp) displays Formally Protected Core and Value Core respectively outside of formal protection.
