Dataset description

The product reports the presence of groundwater identified in water management. Water management is working to meet the requirements of the Water Framework Directive (2006/60/EC) and the Groundwater Directive (2006/118/EC) and others. The boundaries of groundwater bodies coincide mainly with SGU’s groundwater reservoirs in sand and gravel, as well as in sedimentary and crystalline aquifers specifically demarcated for the purposes of water management. Groundwater bodies are found in soil or mountains that have particularly good conditions for groundwater extraction. Groundwater bodies are important resources for, inter alia, drinking water supply.
