Dataset description

DESCRIPTION The dataset contains historical analysis data from the hydrological model HBV for the last 30 days for the time step 06-06. Precipitation and temperature from SMHI’s PTHBV database have been used to drive the model. Parameters included in the file are: snow_totmean — Water content of snow averaged over the entire catchment area, unit, etc. qcout_totmean — Total water flow, unit m³/s. qrout_totmean — Total water flow, observed values, unit m³/s. soildef_totmean — Ground water deficit averaged over the entire catchment area, unit, etc. HBV is a hydrological model that describes the development of water flow in time and space. More information about the HBV model can be found here: https://www.smhi.se/sgn0106/if/hydrologi/HBV.htm DELIVERY In this service you can download files with real-time data via web service at delivery fee. The files shall be saved before further use. Send an e-mail to [email protected] for order. GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION The geographies included in the file are points that form part of approximately 80 locally calibrated river basins. Common to most indicator areas is that they have a real-time updated water flow station against which the model has been calibrated. The geographical identity used in the data set is <district>-<subarea>. The districts are usually the main catchment area. Connection table (csv) and map file (shape) for the connection between district and subarea, can be accessed via the download service. There is also a readme file describing how the files should be used. USE At SMHI, HBV indicator incidents are used as a basis for hydrological forecasts for the hydrological warning service. FORMAT Data is delivered in NetCDF4 format that partly follows CF conventions CF-1.6 for point data.
