Dataset description

The data product ISA, which belongs to the product group Processed road data products (i.e. data extracted from several products and compiled), contains speed limits according to traffic regulations and a flag for whether the road section is a Gren (from the product Road number), as well as a deviation mark indicating that the maximum authorised speed is unclear for a route. Sections with such a deviation mark have been created on the basis of an anomaly report in which someone, usually a vehicle driver, noted that the speed limit according to a road sign and the corresponding information in the vehicle equipment do not match. Reported anomalies due to the difference between the RDT and the NVDB are not recorded as discrepancies and are therefore not included in ISA, as such deficiencies should be promptly corrected in the NVDB speed limit. The purpose of the product is to support and inform the driver about the applicable speed limit. The processed product makes it easy to access information without having to access multiple sources of basic data. By containing, in addition to the usual ISA data, ambiguities, reported as anomalies, the product can be used in business critical applications, for example in car insurance where the driver’s insurance charges are influenced by the driving mode. On routes marked as unclear, i.e. there is an anomaly report, applications may ignore the driving mode when the speed limit in the database is exceeded.
