Nature type mapping (knas)

These data are no longer maintained and have been replaced for operational use by National Land Cover Data (NMD). Data will continue to be available for download if there is an interest in this older data. Previous description of data: Continuous Nature Type Mapping of Protected Areas (Knas) is a nationally homogeneous classification of protected areas. The Knas mapping covers nature reserves, national parks, nature conservation areas and Natura 2000 areas. It is used as a basis for strategies and practical conservation work, as well as for national and international reporting. Knas is a satellite image-based classification of forest types that is combined with different map data (road map, terrain map, Swedish soil cover data (SMD), Meadow and pasture inventory (TUVA).
