School food menus for Ale municipality schools

School food menus are presented in a web-based interface with RSS functionality per school, for schools in the municipality. By sharing the information for the service Skolmaten.se, the school food service ends up in the app developed for that service. The school food can be downloaded as an app for all mobile platforms. The food per school is presented as an RSS feed and can therefore be customised and added to apps in smartphones and tablets or other platforms and services that support RSS to create a menu that is presented in, for example, a calendar. In this way, both children and parents can easily take part in the school food bill for their school as they wish, day by day. The service is provided through an agreement between the municipality and Skolmaten.se and it is the respective school itself that outsources the information, which ensures high quality — the information is shared close to the source and often by the function that presupposes school catering in each school unit.
