Dataset description

The display service ground geochemistry, regional sampling shows sampling sites and analytical results for a sample of elements within the regional soil geochemical survey of Sweden’s geological survey (SGU). The sampling points are shown broken down by the methods of analysis used on the samples: Total content XRF, Nitric acid leaching ICP-MS, King water leaching ICP-MS, King water leaching ICP-AES and King water leaching AAS. Total content of XRF. Several analytical methods may have been used in the same test site. Geochemical mapping at SGU is conducted in order to show the natural presence of major and trace elements as well as pH in soil and water. In the regional geochemical mapping, the fine fraction (< 0.063 mm) is sampled and analysed by moraine with a sample density of approximately 1 sample per 6 to 7 km². The NSG-SGAB database is an archived compilation of geochemical mapping of moraine carried out by the National Board of Mining Property (NSG) in 1987-1991. Analysis results were compiled by Sveriges Geological AB (SGAB) together with data from Terra Mining Co., STC Minerals and Sweden’s geological survey. Morän samples were analysed after royal water leaching using ICP-AES and AAS methods. The number of elements available varies in different years of sampling series, which depends on technology development.
