Dataset description

The bathing area is assessed for all bathing areas registered at the bathing area (the National Agency for Marine and Water Management and the Public Health Authority on the municipalities’ bathing areas). Areas situated within 100 m of a bathing area are deemed to have a high risk of impact. As there is a risk that a bathing area may be affected by a discharge within the DARO where the bathing area is located, the entire DARO is given with a bathing area (including 100 m buffer) risk score 2. The yellow colour should draw the attention of the environmental inspector to the risk. The part of DARO located downstream of the bathing area is of course no risk. However, this has not been possible to include in the assessment. Daro without a bathing area is given a risk score 0. The purpose of the GIS support is to create conditions at a national level for a reasonable, legally certain and more consistent assessment of the level of protection under Chapter 2, Section 3 of the Environmental Code when examining small sewers. The GIS support consists of maps showing the risk of impact on recipient/exposure point due to load from a drain. The maps have been produced through risk assessments based on the legislator’s instructions on criteria for assessing the high/higher level of protection for the entire surface of Sweden.
