Dataset description

A cohesive law has been designed to account for several types of boundaries. A so-called “contiguous zone” is established which extends up to 24 nautical miles from the baselines and runs along the stretches where the boundary of the maritime territory of the sea does not reach the boundary agreed with neighbouring countries. An area, such as an enclave, is formed between Gotland and the mainland that is not part of the adjacent zone. The following attributes are located in the point shape file: Sub-section — The adjoining zone is shown with the following sections: West coast, Baltic, Between Gotland and mainland, Bothnian Sea, Bothnian Bay. Ordernr_parts — Sequencing number of points (AZ) for each section. Ordernr_AZ — Sequencing number of significant points on the outer boundary line of the adjacent zone. Latitude & Longitude — All points along the boundary are described by geographical coordinates in latitude and longitude expressed in the reference system SWEREF 99 partly in degrees and decimal minutes as stated in the law and partly in decimal degrees. Point type — The following point types exist: • cut-off point on adjacent zone boundary lines (AZ); • segmented point on a straight geodetic line between two breakpoints (MP); • segmented point on a circle between two breakpoints (MC). Source — Act (2017:1272) on Sweden’s maritime territory and zones. Unique ID — A unique ID added by the Swedish Maritime Administration. The following attributes are available in the line shape file: Sub-section — The adjoining zone is shown with the following sections: West coast, Baltic, Bothnian Sea, Bothnian Bay. Source — Act (2017:1272) on Sweden’s maritime territory and zones.
