Dataset description

Purpose: Assimilate and validate models used in SMHI’s activities such as the NEMO-Nordic marine circulation model. Unit: PSU Characteristics: The salinity of the water, measured once per hour. Collected from ships (Ferrybox systems), lightships and a number of buoys. Design: Date, time, value, quality and depth of measurement. Quality codes: Green (G) = Verified and accepted values. Yellow (Y) = Coarsely controlled values, suspicious or aggregated values. Orange (O) = Uncontrolled values Limits: 0-40 PSU. Via a user interface where measurement series can be downloaded for one station at a time Data can be downloaded for the last hour, last day or full time series except the last day(historical reviewed) 2. Via a machine-machine solution (Atom flow rate). Where the same series of measurements as above can be obtained and also real-time data. These are the last hour’s readings. They can be retrieved for a measuring station at a time or for all active measuring stations.
