Wetland inventory VMI: newly digitised information

The Wetland Inventory (VMI) was carried out between 1981 and 2005. All invented wetlands have been aerially interpreted. The interpretation is documented on interpretative overlays containing the boundaries of the objects, delimitation of sub-objects and other information such as hydrology, hydromorphology, tree cover and intervention. The Interpretation Interpretation Interpretations have since the inventory been archived at the County Administrative Board. The exception is Norrbotten County, which performed the aerial image interpretation digitally from the beginning based on the vegetation map. To make the interpreting overlays digitally available, they have been photographed and geocorrected (SWEREF 99 TM). For the counties that are ready, delivery for download is gradually added. Delivery description including quality control is shown in the Delivery PM for each county (available in each county’s download file in subfolder "4. “Interpretation sketches”. Currently, the following counties are ready: Stockholm, Värmland, Uppsala, Jämtland, Blekinge, Västmanland, Södermanland, Gävleborg, Dalarna, Kalmar and Västernorrland.
