Cantonal Forest Master Plan — Forest Vocations

Determination of the vocation assigned to each forest sector within the framework of the Cantonal Forest Master Plan (CFMP). The vocation defines a central and long-term objective assigned by the authorities for a forest area. Synthesis between the different functions of the forest, the cantonal map of forest vocations highlights the sectors of particular public interest. It makes it possible to set the priorities for action of the authorities by sector and to plan operational measures. Areas of forest and forest pasture not covered by one of the four described vocations (physical protection, nature-landscape, reception or special use) obtain a vocation “wood production” or “sylvo-pastoral”.
