Dataset description

Development of the average number of summer days, heat days, PET and tropical nights per year for four different periods. — Summer days (Tmax >= 25 °C) — grid name: [SOMMERTAGE_pX] — Tropical nights (tmin >= 20 °C) — grid name: [TROPENNAECHTE_pX] — Heat Days (Tmax >= 30 °C) — Grid name: [HITZETAGE_pX] — PET > 35 °C (= strong heat load) — grid name: [PET_pX] Time periods: 4 x 30 years — reference period: 1961-1990 (_p0) — short-term future: 2021-2040 (_p1) — medium-term future: 2041-2070 (_p2) — long-term future: 2071-2100 (_p3) A so-called ENSEMBLE approach was used for the calculations. Based on global (GCM) and regional climate models (RCM), different model combinations have been calculated for different RCP scenarios. The RCPs represent the results of new emission scenarios. The paths are named after the change in the radiative forcing, which would be associated with them in comparison to the state in 1750 to the year 2100: RCP 2.6 — Change in radiative forcing 2.6 W/m², RCP 4.5-4.5 W/m², RCP 6.0-6 W/m² and RCP 8.5-8.5 W/m² (see also IPCC Fifth Assessment Report) — spatial resolution regional model: — 0.11° (approx. 12 km, equidistant) — temporal resolution — daily — GCM: a) MPI-ESM b) CNRM-CM5 (c) EC-EARTH d) HadGEM2-ES e) CM5A-MR — RCM: a) CCLM4-8-17 b) RCA4 c) REMO2009 — RCP: a) RCP 2.6 b) RCP 4.5 c) RCP 8.5
