Dataset description

The map shows where the use of groundwater is basically possible. Any use of groundwater requires a concession from the Office for Water and Waste (AWA). The map provides information about the possibility to create groundwater heat pumps and other uses. In areas with the designation ‘possibility of use’, a concession may be refused if existing rights of use (e.g. use of drinking water, other existing concessions) are disrupted or negative effects on groundwater, soil or surface waters are expected. The card is therefore not a legally binding basis for granting a concession.
