Regional cooperation between municipalities should become more efficient, binding and democratic (vote of 17 June 2007). With the Regional Conference, municipalities can decide more easily and quickly on important issues in transport planning, settlement development, cultural promotion and regional policy. Whether a regional conference will be introduced in the region concerned must be decided by the voters and the municipalities in a regional vote.
