Dataset description

The data set includes the current status (as far as known) of the publicly available parking spaces for bicycles, motorcycles or combined bicycle/motorcycle parking spaces in the area of the city of Zurich. In addition to the location of the parking spaces, the data set contains other attributes such as post type, capacity, fee obligation. The data is collected every two years manually during an inspection and the dataset is tracked accordingly. However, data will also be updated in between with changes or feedbacks that have become known. The data do not show in all cases the current and real parking offer on site: Thus, the temporary drop-out of parking spaces due to construction sites or the like is not taken into account. For all systems, the capacity at storage spaces is estimated in the best possible way. The data does not contain any information about whether a parking space is free or occupied. There is also no guarantee that the listed parking spaces will be usable and accessible at any time. The mixed parking spaces, despite careful data collection in practice, can be in places whose access is prohibited for motorcycles. If listed parking spaces are not publicly available, they will be removed from the data table on request or after feedback. Incorrect attributes will also be corrected after feedback. **Purpose**: Parking space planning, statistical yearbook and statistical information portal, controlling master plan Velo, mobility management, general planning basis
