Skinner in the Solway Firth Areas. Surveys were carried out with plankton nets and a count of the species captured were carried out. These are detailed in five reports: Observations on Solway Hydromedusae (Glasg. Nat. 19: 189-197 (1975)), Winter Occurrence of Solway Hydromedusae (Glasg. Nat. 20 Part 5: 439-450 (1984)), The Seasonal Occurrence of Some Prominent Zooplankton Species in Rough Firth. I. Scyphomedusae (Glasg. Nat. 22 Part 5: 471-484 (1995)), The Seasonal Occurrence of Some Prominent Zooplankton Species in Rough Firth. II. Chaetognatha (Glasg. Nat. 22 Part 5: 479-484 (1995)), and The Seasonal Occurrence of Some Prominent Species in Rough Firth. III. Decapod Larvae. (Glasg. Nat. 23. Part 1: 51-56 (1996)). T.G. Skinner died in 1997 and Mike Richardson (his biology student) sent data which he extracted from the reprints of his papers in MEDIN guideline format to DASSH for archiving in the DAC and dissemination to the NBN. Skinner's collections that he worked on to produce the records are also deposited in the National Museum of Scotland.
