Dataset description

Area, Group or Woodland Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs) within Brecon Beacons National Park. Please note that the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority are in the final stages of reviewing all of the Tree Preservation orders, and this will NOT be reflected in the dataset until the reviewed TPOs are formally adopted (end of Phase 3). A desktop review of the TPO files was carried out at the end of 2013 (phase 1), from which 37 TPO’s were identified as requiring a follow up site visit (phase 2). Phase 2 was successfully undertaken and completed in late 2014 / early 2015, and identified that the majority of the 37 TPO’s from phase 1 should be re-made as new, smaller TPO’s and the old files revoked. Phase 3 is the final stage of the TPO review and it is estimated that approximately 40 new TPO’s will be created. Once formally adopted, the GIS dataset will be updated and published on data.gov.uk.
