Dataset description
This map of the benthic stands of the Iroise Sea is reproduced according to the map prepared by Raffin C. in 2003 for his thesis “Biologic and Ecological Bases for the Conservation of the Marine Environment in the Iroise Sea”.
This map was digitised in 2007 as part of the REBENT marine benthic flora and fauna monitoring network. The original legend is reported in the award field LEG_ORIG. Harmonisation with the EUNIS typology was carried out in 2011. The method used includes an individual re-determination of polygons, with the involvement of scientific experts. Christian Hily (IUEM/LEMAR) validated this harmonisation in May 2011.
